Shopping Trip 1/27

by SuzyQ on January 27, 2012

If you haven’t already heard, another Save Mart is closing – this one is another older store on Fruit and McKinley, just down the road from Fresno City College.  After work this morning, I went over, armed with my binder.  I ended up getting $325 worth of products for about $118 – that’s 64% savings.

There are still quite a few things there, but the outer edge of the store is not marked down (meat, dairy, produce).  I picked up several things without coupons (stuff I like but won’t normally buy, like Ocean Spray Sparkling Cranberry Juice), but I ended up being able to use a lot of coupons (about $42).  Best deal – Torani Sugar Free Caramel was a closeout for $2.97, so marked down to $1.49.  I had $1/1 coupons, so I picked up 2 for $0.98.  There were a few left – the other flavors are about $2.50 each marked down.

Here’s the news story about the store closure.  According to the checker, the rumor is that a dollar store is going in.  I’ve heard that Dollar General is going in to the old Save Mart on Bullard and Minnewawa, and that Family Dollar is coming to the area, so it could be either of those stores.

If you head over there, tell us what deals you’re getting!
